REM atelier: Studio Transformation #2
After serving as a one-room hotel in 2013, REM atelier was ready to be transformed again. Inspired by little crappy taqueria’s we passed by on our way traveling through California, we transformed our studio into a pop-up Mexican Taqueria for a long weekend called Avenida Paraíso, named again after the street we are situated on. Therefore an entire restaurant set was built out from scratch and we did groceries and cooking for about 250 friends, passengers and neighbors from all over. Even the local cops came in to have a bite. We had real home cooked Mexican street food, Mexican beers, Mexican movies playing, live music and tequila. Unfortunately Avenida Paraíso was just a three day pop-up, not completely clear to some fans from the area who thought we were really opening up a bar.
